I would like to know about scholarships at senior high schools in Kawasaki.

Answer

For the third-year junior high school students who are going to high school (payment for admission) or high school students who is attending high school (grade funds), scholarships are provided to those who are talented but unable to attend school for financial reasons.

【Payment for Admission】

1. Qualifications

(1) Must be a third-year junior high school student with an address in the city.

(2) The average result of all courses taken in the first semester of third-year junior high school must be 3.5 or higher on an evaluation of 5 levels.

(3) Total household income for the previous year must be within the base amount.

Ex:

2 people in the household: 2.41 million yen

3 people in the household: 2.98 million yen

4 people in the household: 3.41 million yen

5 people in the household: 3.88 million yen

6 people in the household: 4.31 million yen

7 people in the household: 4.88 million yen

The above amount is approximate. The base amount varies depending on the age structure of the household.

2. Application period: November

3. Payment amount: In case of going to a national/public high school, 45,000 yen

In case of going to a private high school, 70,000 yen

4. The time of payment: End of March

5. Payment method: Transfer to a financial institution account designated by person him/herself or parents.

6. Application method: It can be applied through your junior high school. Please submit the required documents to the school within the period specified by the junior high school.

7. The time of Notification: Middle of January

【Grade Funds】

1. Qualifications:

(1) Must be a senior high school student with an address in the city.

(2) The average result of all courses taken in the previous year semester of senior junior high

school must be 3.5 or higher on an evaluation of 5 levels.

(3) Total household income for the previous year must be within the base amount.

Ex:

2 people in the household: 2.39 million yen

3 people in the household: 2.93 million yen

4 people in the household: 3.37 million yen

5 people in the household: 3.88 million yen

6 people in the household: 4.27 million yen

7 people in the household: 4.71 million yen

The above amount is approximate. The base amount varies depending on the age structure of the household.

2. Application period: June

3. Payment amount: In case of going to a National/Public high school, 3,000 yen

In case of going to a Private high school, 5,000 yen

It will be added the amount based on the grade. 1st year student:0 yen. 2nd year student:25,000 yen. 3rd year student:10,000 yen.

4. Time of payment: April to September payments will be made in August, and October to next March payments of the following year will be made in February.

(Additional annual amount will be paid in February)

5. Payment method: Transfer to a financial institution account designated by person him/herself or parents.

6. Application method: It can be applied through your senior high school. Please submit the required documents to the school within the period specified by the senior high school.

7. The time of Notification: Late in July.

*Regarding a Necessary document (Payment for Admission and Grade Funds are common)

*Regarding each certification, it can be used a copy of the certificate.

(1) Scholarship grant application form and recommendation form (Please get the application form from the school.)

(2) In the case of a household on public assistance, a certificate of public assistance.

(certificate that is listed all members of the household and issued within three months is valid)

(3) If the child is entrusted to the orphanage or foster parent, a certificate of enrollment or a child entrustment certificate is required.

(4) Persons other than (2) - (3) need a taxation certificate or a tax exemption certificate for the municipal or prefectural (individual) tax. (Total amount of income during the previous year is required)

A. It is issued at the municipal taxation office, city tax certificate issuing corner of ward office (branch office), sub-branch office and administrative service corner. You can check if the certificate can be issued at the municipal taxation office counter.

B. Certificates are required for all household members who are 18 years of age or older, except for high school and college students. (Including those who are dependents.) However, if you are eligible for the spousal deduction and the status is listed on the certificate, you do not need a certificate for your spouse's portion of the deduction. (The special spousal deduction does not apply to the above.)
