The place to report changes depending on the type of vehicle.
1 Motorized bicycle, small-sized special motor vehicle
(1) Due date for reporting: Within 30 days from the date of scrapping the vehicle (reference information)

(2) Filing office: Any city tax office in Kawasaki City, Citizens' Tax Division, Administration Section, City Taxation Branch Office, Administration Section
(Note) Tax returns sent by mail, e-mail or facsimile will not be accepted.
Please file your tax return at the counter.
(3) Office hours
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
(except for Saturdays, Sundays, National holidays, and December 29th to January 3rd)
(4) Necessary items
a. Sign (license plate)
(b) Certificate of issuance of sign
(c) Certificate of receipt for light vehicle tax
(d) Identification documents of the person submitting the report (driver's license, etc.)

If you want to transfer your motorcycle after completing the scrapping procedures in Kawasaki City, hand the motorcycle, the certificate of transfer, and the scrapping declaration form to the new owner after completing the scrapping procedures, and complete the registration procedures in the municipality where the new owner lives.
It is also possible to transfer the bike without scrapping it, but please check with the municipality where the new owner lives before doing so, as there are some municipalities that do not allow registration of vehicles that have not been scrapped.
Please note that in some cases, if the vehicle has not been scrapped, the new owner may not complete the procedures to change the name of the vehicle, or the procedures may be delayed, resulting in the former owner being assessed the light vehicle tax (by type).
2 Two-wheeled light vehicles (over 125cc and under 250cc) and two-wheeled small vehicles (over 250cc)
