To use a licensed nursery school, etc., it is necessary to obtain a certification of education and childcare benefits (2 Classification: 3 years old or older, 3rd Classification: Under 3 years old). In addition, it is necessary to meets the reasons for necessity of childcare in the authorization.

An application for certification of education and childcare benefits can be made at the same time as an application to use an approved daycare center, etc.

Reasons for childcare (standards for entering a licensed nursery school)

(1) Parents who work for more than 64 hours a month

(2) Maternity or Childbirth (about 2 months before and after expected date of childbirth)

(3) Parents' injuries, diseases, or mental/physical disorder.

(4) Nursing care of relatives living together or staying in a hospital for a long time.

(5) Recovering from disasters.

(6) Job hunting or business launching (within 2 months)

(7) Entering school or colleges for job hunting after graduation.

(8) Risk of abusing or domestic violence.

(9) The case cannot take care child due to lack of ability significantly or, the case that provision of childcare is necessary from the viewpoint of child welfare and the mayor approved that it meets (1) ~ (8) above.

*Maternity leave does not qualify any of the standards above, thus not able to apply during the break, yet can apply in the case of after returning to work within the month when you enter nursery school.

*During the maternity leave, children who are already attending nursery school and must continue using, in principals, it can be used nursery school with qualify as "short-term using" until the maternity leave ends.
