The place to notify varies depending on vehicle types.

1　Motorbikes and small-sized special motor vehicles

(1) Deadline for notification: Within 15 days after you take over.

(2) Contact:

In any of Kawasaki city Administration Desk, Municipal Residents Taxation Section of Taxation Office /Administration Division, Taxation Branch Office.

(Note) The application form which has sent by postal mail, email or fax cannot accept. Please apply at the counter.

(3) Office hours:　Monday - Friday 　8:30am - 5:00pm

(Excluding Saturdays, Sundays, National holidays, and Dec 29th ~ Jan 3rd)

(4) Requirements:

　　(a) Certification of Transfer

　　(b) Certification of Unregister a Vehicle (If you have not requested deregistration of the vehicle, the License Plate (Number Plate) and Certificate of Issuance of License Plate are required.)

　　(c) The items proofing your address (If you have registered as a resident in Kawasaki City, not needed.)

　　(d) The documents verifying identity of the person who notifies (driver's license etc.).

The application form is available at the counter, or it can be downloaded the file for it from “Related Materials” below.

Even when registering a motorbike bought through an online auction, the Certification of Transfer and Certification of Unregister a Vehicle are necessary. We cannot issue a license plate only with a receipt made at the time of purchase. Please obtain the necessary documents from the previous owner since we cannot issue the License Plate with the purchase receipt.

2　Light vehicles with two wheels (larger than 125cc but smaller than 250cc) and small vehicles with two wheels (larger than 250cc)
