From July 9 2012, the Basic Resident Registration Card was started to be used continuously even if the resident moved to another city after the issuance of the card.
Upon notifying the move-in, show the Basic Resident Registration Card. Then, the date of the notification and new address will be written down on the back side of the card, and have the information recorded in the card changed, then it will be ready to be used.
However, if the card is not brought in to the counter of ward office within 90 days after the move-in, you won't be able to use the same card any more.
[Procedure]
（1）Where to notify: Ward Residents Division in a ward office or Citizens' Center in the branch office in your new domicile.
（2）Required Items: The Basic Resident Registration Card issued in your old domicile (The card before expiration only )
（3）Office hours: Weekdays (Monday to Friday) 9:00am to 5:00pm
*Please note that the Office hours for this service is different from the Office hours of ward offices and the branch offices.
（4）Notes:
・When requesting to use the same Basic Resident Registration Card continuously, you will be asked to enter PIN number to change the information recorded in the card.
・A person who is from the same household with the card holder is able to use the Basic Resident Registration Card continuously under the "consent of the card holder" if he/she knows the PIN number. However, please do not tell your PIN number to others except your family member to prevent abuse.
